The virtuous woman and the answer to the submission question!
Published in Unknown Binding by Christian Pub. Services ()
Average review score:

An Eye Opener, Marriage Saver, Bible Sound, Easy To Read!I was deeply depressed about my marriage (of 27 years) and my home life and family. I was about to throw in the towel when a friend sent me a copy of this book called the "Virtuous Woman". When I first looked at the title I didn't want to read it but God kept bring it back to me. It seems as though ever where I turned in my house I came across this book. One day I picked it up and sat down and started to read it and as I did I could not put it down until I had finished. Everything I had thought, suffered and wondered about from God was finally answered. I sat and cried as God spoke to me from the pages of the book. I found answers that never seem to be answered at my church and from my Pastor (and he is a wonderful pastor) but there were always some things he would say that would never be at peace deep down inside of me. After reading the Virtuous Woman God used the words from each page to change my life, my marriage and my family. I am at peace! Now who I last loaned my copy of this book to I can't seem to remember. So many of my friends lives have also been changed and have been blessed by it as well. I am hoping to get a copy to share with my co-worker at work. Thanks Amazon. I highly recommend this book.
A Book Filled With Answers About Submission And Obedience!"The Virtuous Woman, And The Answer To The Submission Question" - by Marion J. Wade, is an excellent book that filled with "Powerful" revelations and godly answers about submission and obedience. As I read this book my eyes were opened to truths about submission and obedience, husbands and wives that I had always wanted to know about but never seemed to find the answers. Pastor Wade writes from his 25 years as a Pastor and counselor to many Christian couples and he really points out why submission has been a problem in years pass. Yet, through the revelation's he says given him by God, he writes answers that are not only good but practical to live by every day. The book, I believe reveals the answers that God had in mind when he said husband and wives should submit to one another and the wife to her husband as the church should to Christ. If you are tired of answers about submission and obendience that don't work, then get a copy of this book you will not regret it.

Warrior Woman
Published in Paperback by New American Library (December, 1991)
Average review score:

woman warrior characterizes the ideal oriental womanI read this book in college and it was a haunting beconing of my ancestors from the past to prod me on and become something more than the traditional wife and mother. Woman warrior in the book symbolizes true women inner strength and abilities that can be transferred to modern society in America, as little girls grow up to be voters, tax payers and soldiers defending this country was well as mothers expanding and raising the next generation.
kept my attentionThis is one book you won't be able to put down! It kept my full attention all the way through. If you like adventure stories with heroines here's another great one from the author of 'Mists of Avalon'. Zadieyek of Gyre is a warrior woman you will not forget!

1-2-3 Reading and Writing: Pre-Reading and Pre-Writing Opportunities for Working With Young Children
Published in Paperback by Warren Pub House (February, 1992)
Average review score:

Give your child a great start to reading & writing! As a an elementary school teacher, I know that kids definitely need literacy activities at home. As a mom, I also know that it's hard to fit everything that kids need into the day! That's why 1-2-3 Reading & Writing is so great! It has fabulous activities that you can easily do at home with your pre-school child to give him/her early experiences with reading & writing. It's very simple to follow, and you can use things you already have around the home for these great hands-on activities. For example, some of the activities use soap, golf-tees, tongue depressors, old magazines, buttons, and even snacks to teach your child beginning problem solving, eye-hand coordination, alphabet learning, etc. Most of the activities don't take a lot of prep-time, which is perfect for busy moms! This has great helps for making learning FUN! Isn't that how it should be anyway?

Absentee Ownership: Business Enterprise in Recent Times: The Case of America
Published in Paperback by Transaction Pub (August, 1996)
Average review score:

Heavy reading, but well worth the effortAbsentee Ownership is Veblen's attempt to explain the case of American business after World War II and prior to the great depression, which he unfortunately did not live to see. The book reads like a warning for the crash which came a few years after its publication. Veblen charts the rise and fall of the Captain of Indusrty, talks about the sabatoge of entrepreneurs, and other topics relevant to anyone who is interested in economics or sociology. The downside is Veblen's intensely dry writing style, which takes a bit of getting used to and slows down the speed of the reading a great deal. I would recommend at least a basic knowledge of laissez-faire capitalism before attempting this book.

Adele Marion Fielde: Feminist, Social Activist, Scientist (Women in Science)
Published in Hardcover by Routledge (01 March, 2002)
Average review score:

what a Woman! My thanks to Dr. Leonard Warren for this absorbing biography of a woman I personally had never heard of and who is, I believe, unfamiliar to most readers. Set against the intellectual, religious, and scientific climate of the second half of the 19th century and the early years of the 20th, this recounting of the life of the awesomely brilliant Adele Marion Fielde should be required reading for anyone interested in such wide-ranging subjects as: missionary work in China, political and cultural life in western and eastern Europe, the early feminist movement, late-19th-century scientific thought and research....and more, more, more. And then there is the fascinating Ms. Fielde herself, a woman of extraordinary intellect, humanism, insight and energy, who not only survived an extraordinary tragedy but turned enforced self-reliance into the driving force of a most remarkable life. Why doesn't someone turn it into a movie?

Alison's Puppy
Published in Hardcover by Hyperion Press (April, 1997)
Average review score:

Alison's Puppy: Get ready for a fun surprise ending!Alison's Puppy by Marion Dane Bauer is a beginning chapter book appropriate for children ages six through eight. In the book, Alison's birthday is coming up and she really wants a puppy. Her family members do not want a puppy because puppies are messy and noisy. Alison's grandfather comes up with a very creative way to help her birthday wish come true and still respect the opinions of the other members of her family. Alison's Puppy focuses on family and pets, themes that children will find very familiar. The storyline progresses quickly and holds the reader's interest and the surprise ending is funny and clever. The author does not describe the characters in great detail but readers learn about them through their dialogue and actions. The illustrations in the book as well as the layout, with small sections of text rather than large blocks of text, make this book a nice transition from picture books.
